June 15, 2004 Dear Ian & Samantha; The Days following the firebombing of our library have been very difficult for both our school and for our community. We are strengthened by the overwhelming number of people who took the time to let us know that they deplore hatred and violence and that they stand in solidarity with us. We are proud to be part of a society that strives for tolerance and that values children and learning. On behalf of the UTT family, please accept our sincere thanks for organizing the roller hockey fundraiser to help us rebuild the library. It was especially heartwarming to see our alumni involved in this way. Your generosity has made it possible for us to begin the rebuilding of our library and we are planning to have it open for the return of school in September. We hope that you will be able to join us for the inauguration of the new library in the fall. Your kindness was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
